The coming together of Happy Feet from the South Pole and Santa from the North Pole has produced an amazing result.

The generous donations raised by the Happy Feet sculpture in December combined with funds from Santa snaps taken by Kodak Express and of course all the hard work of the Coastlands gift wrapping team means the Aquatic Centre trust just got closer to its fundraising goal.

"Coastlands is thrilled to be handing over $6384 to the Kapiti Aquatic Centre Trust" Coastlands Chairman Bruce Mansell said.

Last year the generous sponsorship donation of $750,000 earned Coastlands naming rights for what will now be known as the Coastlands Aquatic Centre.  It's a position we consider to be a privilege" Mr Mansell said.

Building of the Coastlands Aquatic Centre is scheduled to begin next month and is expected to be completed in March 2013.
